In 2023, Charlie Edmiston teamed up with BTFL Studio to create a custom painter’s jacket and pants, designed to meet the practical demands of his studio work. Together, they developed a set that balanced aesthetic appeal with functionality, adding features that standard options couldn’t offer. Over the following months, the outfit was put to the test and proved its utility and durability.
The process ultimately led to the idea of expanding the collaboration, evolving the original set into an artist apron for public release. Inspired by his studio practice, the apron was designed with the same meticulous attention to detail as the custom outfit. Over a year of close collaboration, they refined every detail to create a product that embodies exceptional craftsmanship and intentional design.
The final product—an artist apron handmade in Los Angeles with premium Japanese fabrics—reflects the shared vision of both Edmiston and BTFL. It merges utility and elegance in a piece crafted for creatives.
